Precise information of ranges usually needed in position detection problem, for instance on self position detection of a local distributed object. A method of range measurement using propagation time difference between ultrasonic wave and infrared ray was introduced that can be used in such case when observing and observed point separated relatively in short range, i.e. up to 10 meters, and a relative high precision result is required. M-sequence has introduced as solution for wave period length problem. In this research, advanced testing to the use of m-sequence has done. The effect of m-sequence order number and sampling rate to the accuracy and system real time performance has observed. Keywords: range measurement, infrared, ultrasonic, m-sequence, cross-correlation.
