The reverberation time of a room is the time in seconds for sound level to decrease by 60 dB after a sound source is suddenly turned off. The conventional method of reverberation time measurement can be done by using a lot of equipment such as measuring amplifier, level recorder, band-pass filter, and protactor, make it inefficient and needs longer time to analyze the reverberation time. Utilizing the Real-Time Frequency Analyzer (RTFA) and developing computer software program is an alternative solution to improve the reverberation time measurement, so that the measurement of reverberation time can be done more practice and faster. The total time which is required to process the reverberation time by developed software program system is 0.5 hours, meanwhile by conventional method need more longer of time, namely about 4 hours. Even tough from measurement results it is found the difference values between conventional method and developed system especially occurred in the middle frequency region with the maximum deviation is 0.42 seconds. These deviations supposed to be influenced by some possibilities that will be discussed in this paper. Keywords : reverberation time, real-time frequency analyzer, conventional method, developed software program system.
