In this paper, the performance of trellis code (TC)8 phase shift keying (PSK) with selection combining (SC)diversity in the transmission and maximum ratio combining (MRC) in the reception on the Nakagami fading channel will be analyzed and evaluated. The performance of TC 8PSK is characterized by bit error rate (BER). The communication channel in the reception have a good level signal and high signal to noise ratio (SNR) base band. We also assume that the random fading signals on each branch diversity are independent and hence uncorrelated. It is shown from the results that BER performance of TC 8PSK with SC diversity in the transmission and MRC diversity in the reception is better than that the BER performance of TC 8PSK without diversity and TC 8PSK only used MRC diversity. The BER performance of TC 8PSK is depend on the number of branch of transmitter, K, the number of branch receiver, L, and Nakagami fading parameter, m. Key words: trellis code modulation , SC diversity, MRC diversity, Nakagami fading.
